Fourth Friday continues at Bar 48, 48, Brixton Road (3 minutes from Oval Underground) after a wonderful first event there on September 23rd.

On 28th October we look forward to another great evening in this friendly Eritrean bar with excellent beers, wines and wonderful food.   www.bar48london.com    and three fine poets, Stephen, Jenny & Adnan, plus virtuoso guitarist Peter Black.

Jenny Lewis, poet, playwright & chidren’s author  teaches poetry at Oxford University, pub’d Carcanet. Her recent collection, Taking Mesopotamia, concerns itself with her father’s role in WW1 and this century’s Iraqi conflicts as well as referring to the Epic of Gigamesh.  https:// jennylewis.org.uk

Adnan al-Sayegh Iraqi exile, distinguished poet (look him up on Wikipaedia) whose work has recently been translated into English by Stephen Watts, poet, editor and translator with cultural roots in the Italian Alps, Scotland and London’sWhitechapel, which much of his poetry celebrates… Peter Black is a highly-talented classically-trained professional guitarist who performs in many styles peterblackguitar.co.uk.
